Laser Hair Removal

If you're not happy with shaving, tweezing, or waxing

to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering.

Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures in the U.S. It beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light. That destroys the hair.

Speed

Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour.

How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is more than just ''zapping'' unwanted hair. It is a medical procedure that requires training to perform and carries potential risks.

If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should avoid plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. That's because the laser targets the hairs' roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking.

You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.

What to Expect During Laser Hair Removal

Just before the procedure, your hair that will be undergoing treatment should be shaved off the morning of or the night before your appointment. The laser equipment will be adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of your hair being treated as well as your skin color.

Depending on the laser or light source used, you and the technician will need to wear appropriate eye protection. It will also be necessary to protect the outer layers of your skin with a cold gel or special cooling device. This will help the laser light penetrate the skin.

You may schedule your next treatment four to six weeks later depending on the are we are treating.

Recovery and Risks

For a day or two afterward, the treated area of your skin may look and feel like it's sunburned. Cool compresses and moisturizers may help. If your face was treated, you can wear makeup the next day unless your skin is blistering.

Over the next month, your treated hair will fall out. Wear sunscreen for the following month to help prevent temporary changes in the color of the treated skin.

CO2 Fractional Skin Resurfacing

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is MiXto SX® Micro Fractional CO2?

CO2 is a Carbon Dioxide laser that has been used for more than 25 years in the aesthetic industry for treatment of conditions such as fine and deep wrinkles, scars of various origin, uneven pigmentation and dilated pores.

When the CO2 beam of light comes in contact with the epidermis it heats and vaporizes the skin tissue, instantly removing the superficial layers of the skin, scars and wrinkles while smoothing out the surface of the skin. The skin remodeling occurs with new skin and collagen growth.

MiXto stands for the mixture between CO2 energy and fractional resurfacing, and the SX stands for surgical, because the laser can also be used to make a very clean incision without bleeding.

2. How does it work?

The MiXto SX® gives the operator more control to regulate the depth of penetration and the amount of heat delivered by the beam.

The high speed scanner, driven by a patent-pending algorithm divides the treatment area into four quadrants, or “fractions”, and skips the beam from quadrant to quadrant so that each strike is separated by the longest possible interval.

This process is repeated until the entire area is treated. Dividing energy this way allows maximum time for thermal cooling of the tissue, less pain for the patient and faster recovery!

Compared to traditional resurfacing of the past this is a big step in technology for both the patient and the physician!

3. How is this different than other laser treatments?

The MiXto SX® delivers more results in a 30-minute treatment than competitors can accomplish in 3 treatments with less discomfort, downtime and cost.

4. Does it hurt?

For most patients we apply topical anesthetic and oral tylenol so they are able to drive themselves home. or we can prescribe valium and you would need a ride to and from the appointment. The discomfort is similar to a bad sunburn.

5. What are the risks?

Erythema (redness of skin): the laser-treated areas have a distinctive redness representing increased blood flow due to the growth of the superficial tissue and collagen. It will gradually fade during the first few days.

Inflammation (swelling): Treatment with the MiXto SX® System presents a minimal amount of swelling that can last up to 24 hours.

Hyperpigmentation (tanning): This is presented after the third day of the procedure but then begins to shed and reveal younger healthy looking skin.

A personal interview and clinical examination will be conducted to obtain relevant facts about your medical and dermatologic history, and any medications you are currently taking or have taken in the past. If you are prone to cold sores, you need to ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription before the treatment.

Fractional Treatment with the MiXto SX® has been proven safe for the face, neck, chest and hands.

6. How long is recovery?

Most patients are ready to go back to work the next day, but it depends on the patient and their lifestyle. Typical downtime is 4-7 days.

7. What is the recovery like?

The patient is red and can be swollen the next day. On the second, third and fourth day the patient is peeling and can experience itchiness typical to a sunburn.

8. When do you see the results?

Right away! When we are doing the procedure you can immediately see the skin contract and shrink. The patient will really see the benefits by the time the skin is completely peeled and will continue to see results for up to six months with new collagen regeneration that “plumps” up the skin.

9. Who is the best candidate for this procedure?

There are three separate groups the MiXto applies to; the younger patient with severe acne scars, the middle-aged patient with wrinkles and age spots and the older patient with wrinkles, age spots and pre-cancerous lesions.

10. How many treatments are needed?

In most cases only one, but for deeper wrinkles and acne scars two or more treatments.

11. Is it just for the face or can it be used on other areas of the body?

It is most commonly used on the face but can be used on neck, chest, arms and hands.

12. Is the treatment expensive?

The new technology has actually brought the price down, without compromising the results.

Microneedling with the Rejuvapen

Fractional Collagen Induction Therapy - also called Microneedling

The Rejuvapen is a remarkable, non-laser, non-surgical treatment that causes skin to stimulate collagen production and fresh, new tissue.

Skin tightens; wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, and hyperpigmentation significantly diminish; pores become finer; and the overall health and circulation of the skin is improved.

Microneedling with the Rejuvapen

$420
  • With Human Growth Factor / Face & Neck

Microneedling with the Rejuvapen

$150
  • With Peptides / Face or Neck

How Does Rejuvapen Work?

Rejuvapen utilizes precisely spaced micro needles in a small cartridge to create invisible, vertical, micro perforations into the top layers of the skin. As a result the skin shifts its natural repair mechanism into high gear and starts producing collagen and elastin.

The self-repairing property of the skin is a 100% natural form of skin renewal. Adjustable needle length from .2 to 2.5mm allows customized treatments from skin freshening to deep scar repair anywhere on the body.

Skin becomes firmer and regains its elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, pores become firmer, circulation is stimulated and the overall condition of the skin improves.

After the initial treatment, patients often notice that their skin has a healthy pink glow and that fine lines are diminished. Skin naturally takes roughly four weeks to synthesize new collagen, but it is not until about four months that patients can see the full effect of Rejuvapen treatments. It is suggested that patients receive four treatments, spaced at least two weeks apart.

The Treatment:

The Rejuvapen treatment is a micro-needling treatment that stimulates the production of collagen in the skin. Since micro-needling enhances the production of collagen the treatment can reverse the signs of sun damage, improve the appearance of acne scars, stretch marks and hyper-pigmentation. Fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced and an overall healthier appearance of the skin will occur.

What is the downtime?

Typically the healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the procedure. Most commonly there may be some redness that resembles mild sunburn. This may last for 2-4 days. Some patients may have the redness dissipate within 24 hours. The skin will be pink or red in appearance for 24-48 hours, much like a sunburn with some minor bleeding and very occasionally some mild bruising.

The skin may also feel warm, tight and itchy for a short while. Generally the inflammatory reaction of the skin is short and fades significantly after a couple of days. Patients with a more sensitive skin type or older patients may take longer to fully recover.

Aftercare Treatment

Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the first 48 hours following treatment and drying the area gently without rubbing. Always use clean hands to avoid infection. Avoid applying makeup products for the first 12 hours following treatment. Your aesthetician will advise you on use of appropriate, gentle skincare following the treatment.

It can take between 6-8 weeks before visible signs of skin regeneration are seen and the process will continue to evolve over the ensuing months providing a gradual improvement.

Who is a candidate?

Rejuvapen is a treatment that can be used on all skin types. It:

  • Minimizes Pore Size
  • Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Lifts, Tightens, and Rejuvenates skin, Builds New Collagen and Elastin
  • Improves appearance of Acne Scarring
  • Improves Hyperpigmentation
  • Activates Cell Regeneration

Not good candidates for Rejuvapen:

  • Have used Accutane within the last 3 months or active acne
  • Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions
  • Have had radiation treatments to the skin within the last year or skin cancer
  • Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, herpes simplex in the area to be treated
  • Are pregnant or breast feeding
  • Have history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing
  • Raised surfaces
  • Eczema

When will you see results?

Patients may notice healthier looking skin right away. However, keep in mind that dermal collagen remodeling occurs over time and it would not be realistic to expect damage that has happened to the skin over a long period of time to disappear right away.

We suggest a series of 4-6 sessions depending on what the treatment is for. Individuals may not see final results until 3-6 months following the last appointment.

Veingogh The Art of Vein Treatment

1. WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR VEINGOGH?

Any adult in good health who has thin spider veins, or tangled, thread-like veins known as “telangiectasia,” and who is looking for a quick procedure with no downtime, can be an excellent candidate for the VeinGogh procedure.

2. WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

There is a very small risk of scarring, although this risk is minimal and much less than the risk associated with other vein procedures.

3. ON WHAT SIZE VESSELS DOES VEINGOGH WORK BEST?

VeinGogh works on spider veins up to 0.3 mm. VeinGogh is not designed to treat feeder vessels or larger vessels deep beneath the surface.

4. HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL TREATMENT?

Depending mainly upon the size of the area, treatments can range from about a minute for minor lesions and up to 20–25 minutes for a more extensive condition.

5. HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

After cleaning the injection site, your VeinGogh specialist will use a very fine, insulated needle to administer the treatment just beneath the surface of the skin but without piercing the vessel itself. Tiny vessels will be destroyed and disappear quickly. Most procedures take less than 20 minutes to perform, and no bandages are required following the procedure

6. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER A TREATMENT??

The precise nature of the VeinGogh treatment limits the risk of over-treating, so there is little to no trauma to the skin. Following treatment, there will be some mild redness that is transient. Men and women treated with VeinGogh can resume their normal activities immediately after their procedure. In addition, no bandages are required.

7. DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?

Since the procedure uses a hair-thin probe inserted into the vessel, there can be a “pinch.” Patients report it feels similar to a hair being removed.

8. WHEN WILL I BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS?

Immediately. You will see continuous improvement over several weeks as the treated vessels are reabsorbed.

Permanent Makeup

Eyebrows may be one of the most overlooked yet most important beauty features of the face. The eyebrows add expression and definition to our face and eyes; they can frame and lift our face and eyes and bring a smile to our face. However, eyebrows can also be shaggy, with loose hairs hanging, pulling our face down and making us look sad or grumpy. The natural and inevitable ageing process or past fashion trends to shave or over pluck have left a lot of women unhappy with their eyebrows.
The application of permanent eyebrows allows you to regain your looks and eliminates the inconvenience of applying and reapplying makeup throughout the day. Forget about what your eyebrows look like and enjoy the confidence and freedom of knowing you always look and feel great.

Many people will report that, when the notice someone for the first time, they see the eyes. The eyes are often an area that ages first and can age quickly, giving way to the appearances of sadness, droopiness, puffiness and hollowness. Although permanent makeup cannot repair aging eyes by taking away excess skin or wrinkles, it can improve the appearance of the eye.
Several different types of approaches can be used for lining the eye: a straight and solid line on the upper and/or lower lid and lash line enhancement.

Although some people were born with perfectly symmetrical, plump lips, most of us are not so lucky. We feel a certain lacking in our appearance when we think that our lips are flat and thin. As we grow older, our lips seem to shrink. It is a part of aging process. Permanent makeup can be a great solution to fix the problem.
Beautiful, sensual lips are created by adding natural color where needed, achieving instant fullness and definition. Subtle corrections can be made to thin, uneven or unsymmetrical lips and the size and shape can be altered as desired. Facial lines around the mouth are instantly camouflaged and lipstick bleed is eliminated.
